  skos:scopeNote "كراكینگ یعنی شكستن مولکول‌های بزرگتر به مولکول‌های كوچكتر. كراكینگ به دو روش گرمایی و كاتالیزی انجام می‌شود. به عنوان مثال، نفت چراغ را تا حدود 700 درجه سانتی گراد گرم می‌کنند تا دو مولکول با 18 اتم کربن (در اندازه‌های مولکول بنزین) به دست آید. دمای بالای مورد نیاز برای اجرای کراکینگ را معمولا از سوزاندن مقداری از مولکولهای دارای 1 تا 4 اتم کربن، که در فرایند کراکینگ تشکیل می‌شوند، تامین می‌كنند. معمولا بیش از یک سوم از نفت خام کراکینگ می‌شود و با استفاده از کاتالیزگر بازده فرایند کراکینگ را بالا می‌برند."@fa .
