  skos:scopeNote "لرزش‌هایی که بر اثر آزاد شدن انرژی‌های تمرکز یافته در لایه‌های زیرین زمین به وجود آمده و ممکن است باعث تغییراتی در سطح زمین و بروز خسارات جانی و مالی شود. بزرگی زلزله را با مقیاس ریشتر اندازه‌گیری می‌کنند. بررسی زلزله‌های گذشته نشان می‌دهد که بزرگی زلزله‌ها از یک درجه تا نه درجه در مقیاس ریشتر در نوسان است. تاکنون زلزله‌ای به بزرگی بیش از هشت و شش دهم ریشتر اتفاق نیفتاده است. از جمله بحران‌‌ها و مشکلات پس از زلزله می‌توان به موارد زیر اشاره کرد: شأن و کرامت بازماندگان، عملیاتی کردن مدیریت‌ها، امنیت، اطلاع‌رسانی، تخلیه و توزیع کمک‌ها، عدم مهارت‌های ویژه امدادگران، عدم هماهنگی نیروهای عمل‌کننده و امدادگر، مسیرهای ارتباطی، اسکان و اعزام مجروحان و مصدومان، اسکان بازماندگان، تدفین جسدها، زنده‌یابی و خارج کردن مجروحان و مصدومان از زیر آوار، بهداشت و شستشو، لوازم و تجهیزات، بی‌سرپرستی کودکان و بازماندگان دیگر، رفتار گروهی و فردی بازماندگان، حمل‌ونقل، سوخت و برق و آب‌‌رسانی، جمع‌آوری فاضلاب و پسمانده‌ها، سیستم ارتباطات و مخابرات، ساختمان‌ها و شریان‌های حیاتی."@fa, "The vibrations of the earth caused by the passage of seismic waves radiating from some source of elastic energy."@en .
